This collection contains notes, meeting minutes, budgets, proposals and corespondents from DeGroot's involvement with the organizations she served on and was an active member from the 1970s-2000. The papers from the Millennium March on Washington range from 1998-2000 and appear to have been in chronological order. This collection also contains a UCA 30 videocassette recording, produced by Laurie Gorman, titled To Walk in the Night.

Biographical Sketch

In 2008 Ann Marie DeGroot was named Executive Director of the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board. Prior to this, Degroot served on the Board of Directors for Millennium March on Washington (MMOW), held April 28-April 30, 2000. MMOW was an event held to raise awareness for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. DeGroot also served 21 years as the founding Executive Director of OutFront Minnesota. While serving at OutFront, Degroot played an instrumental part of the passage of the 1993 Amendment to the Minnesota Human Rights Act. She also was active in Women Against Pornography in the 1970s-1980s. During the 1980s she held active roles in Minnesota Lesbian and Gay Olympic Committee and Minnesota Women's Peace Camp, Women's Resource Center, and Take Back the Night (TBTN).
