The collection includes three books on transgender topics, and various other materials relating to Leandra Vicci and transgender rights and issues. Included are print-outs of her personal website, some articles and correspondence relating to Vicci and Lynn Conway, and three binders of articles on transgender issues. These binders have articles specifying transgender medical issues such as hormone replacement therapy, gender reassignment surgery, and other relating information, as well as articles about coming out in the workplace and securing rights as a transgender person.

Biographical / Historical
Leandra Vicci is a faculty member of the Computer Science Department at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She came out to her coworkers in 1998 by writing a coming out document and continued to follow up throughout her transition in order to raise awareness of her experience as a transgender woman as well as transgender issues in general.
