Biographical / Historical

René Saldaña Jr. was born and grew up in McAllen, TX. He went to Bob Jones University for his B.A., and Clemson University for his M.A. He completed his Ph.D. at Georgia State University. He currently teaches in the College of Education at Texas Tech University. Saldaña writes for both children and young adults, and his writings are often based on his experiences growing up in Texas and his Hispanic heritage. He lives in Lubbock, Texas.
