Biographical / Historical

Born July 4, 1956, Joyce Sidman grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in German. She has published multiple books of poetry for children; her 2010 publication, Dark Emperor and Other Poems of the Night, was nominated for a Newbery Medal. She currently lives in Wayzata, Minnesota with her family.
