Biographical / Historical

Cynthia DeFelice was born December 28, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA. She received a B.A. from Smith College in 1973 and an M.L.S. from Syracuse University in 1980, and, in addition to writing has worked variously as a barn painter, child care provider, and advertising artist. While working as an elementary school librarian in 1987 DeFelice first began writing children's books, and has written both novels and picture books. DeFelice lives in Geneva, New York.
