Scope and Contents

Records documenting the administration and evolution of the West Central Branch of the YMCA Minneapolis. Available records include committee of management minutes, accounting department correspondences, membership lists, general minutes and reports from 1919 to 1970, and include some material from the South Central and Urban branches. The bulk of the material covers the 1940-1959.

Biographical / Historical

The South Central branch, located at 26 ½ W. Lake Street in Minneapolis, changed its name to the West Central branch in 1954. In 1970, the Urban department and the West Central branch merged to form the Urban West Central branch (which in 1984, became the Blaisdell branch).
