Biographical Note

Venus DeMars is a Minneapolis-based musician and artist. She has been performing since the 1980s, notably with her long-running glam-punk band All the Pretty Horses, and has toured throughout the United States and Europe. In 2003, she was the subject of the documentary "Venus of Mars," which explored her artistic accomplishments and her relationship with her wife. In 2014, she won a legal battle against the Minnesota Department of Revenue, who had claimed in 2012 that she was not a professional artist.
