Scope and Content
The collection consists of books, articles, papers, reports, conference proceedings, pamphlets, brochures, standards and manuals from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Library. The bulk of the collection's volumes were published between 1960 and 1980, although titles go back as early as 1929. The subject matter provides coverage of professional social work and social services literature, supplemented by more selective coverage of popular and professional works in public policy, psychology and sociology.

Historical Note
The Minnesota Department of Human Services Library served as a reference library for the professional staff in the state welfare department and as the basis for handling information requests from social service agencies throughout the state. Development of the library ended in 1981.
