Voluntary Action Center Records
Scope and Content
The records relate to the Volunteer Bureau before it was reorganized as the Voluntary Action Center. Materials include correspondence, minutes, reports, scrapbooks and a 1950 film title "Volunteer Service in the City." The correspondence reflects the shift from activities centered about World War II to coordination of post war transportation and social service volunteer activities. Other records document community planning, a "Holiday Bureau," and administrative issues.

Historical Note
Voluntary Action Center and its predecessor, the Volunteer Bureau, Inc., served as a clearing house to place volunteers in St. Paul health and welfare agencies and to provide transportation, visits and services.
