Scope and Content

The Vaughn Bornet papers document his activities with the American Heart Association. In addition to records of committee meetings and related correspondence, the papers include a significant amount of material on the American Heart Association's 1961 repot, "The Heart Future," which was authored primarily by Vaughn Bornet. The papers also document social issues, social work history, and health and healtcare topics in general.

Historical Note

Vaughn Bornet was a professor of history at Southern Oregon College and a social welfare historian. He served as chair of the American Heart Association's Committee on the Future Role from 1962-1962 and Committee on Long Range Planning from 1962-1964.
