Biographical / Historical
The Chicago Free Press began publication in 1999, and was founded by former staff from another Chicago-based LGBT publication, the Windy City Times. It ceased publication in 2010 after publisher David Costanzo stopped funding the newspaper. It was one of the largest LGBT newspapers in the midwest with a readership of approximately 50,000.
