Biographical / Historical
Gai Pied Hedbo was a weekly gay men's magazine issued in France and founded by Jean Le Bitoux. Its name literally translates to "gay foot," is a pun on the term "guêpier" meaning hornet's nest, and was suggested to the magazine by Michel Foucault. Gai Pied Hedbo was published by Pink Triangle publications and printed by the Revolutionary Communist League. A minister of the interior attempted and failed to ban the publication in 1987.
