Biographical / Historical
The Advocate Classifieds was a spinoff publication of the Los Angeles based magazine The Advocate. It began publication in 1992, after The Advocate decided to remove sexually oriented advertisements from its main publication, in an effort to appeal to a wider audience and bring in more mainstream advertisers. The Advocate Classifieds also contained advice columns and horoscopes.
