Biographical / Historical
Bear Magazine was founded in 1987 in San Francisco by partners Richard Bulger and Chris Nelson, in order to cater to the bear community of gay and bisexual men. It ran quarterly until 2002, when its publishing house was shut down due to issues with the IRS. Bear Magazine began publishing again in 2008 and is now published in print and online under the title "World Bear Magazine"
