Biographical / Historical

Bound & Gagged was a gay bondage and discipline magazine published in New York City by Outbound Press. It ran from 1987 to 2005 and was founded by Bob Wingate. It grew out of the New York Bondage Club (also founded by Bob Wingate in 1984), and the first few issues include writings about the actual experiences of the club members. Subsequent issues also include fictional encounters, techniques, and images. Wingate reportedly started the magazine because "there was virtually nothing else out there" in regards to publications with bondage-focused content. The magazine was edited by Robert W. Davolt, who was also the editor of Drummer magazine, and Bound & Gagged ceased publication in 2005 when Davolt passed away.
