Historical Note
Man to Man, and it’s successor Among Men, were in-person sexual health education and support programs that ran for nearly 20 years. The program began in the early 1990s when HIV was not fully understood and Man-to-Man worked to educate men in Minnesota who were at risk of contracting HIV or were themselves HIV positive. The programs provided comprehensive safe-sex practices, and HIV and general sexual education from the perspective of gay men. In 2012 the University of Minnesota School of Public Health retired the Man-to-Man Sexual Health Seminars to allow for more online HIV prevention interventions.
