This collection consists of publishing materials, Wally Swan’s writing and editing materials, book author writings and articles, published books, Wally Swan’s political campaigns, DFL and Green Party materials, publications, clippings and articles, conference materials, Penumbra Theater materials, correspondence, and travel material related to Wally Swan’s personal and professional involvement with the LGBT community dating 1971-2007. This collection also includes papers belonging to Lyle Rossman, Wally Swan's partner of twenty four years.

Biographical Sketch

Wally Swan ran for a number of public office positions including The Minneapolis Library Board, Minnesota Treasurer, and the Minneapolis Board of Estimation and Taxation, which he won. He is currently an adjunct professor at three institutions and an accomplished author and editor and has published several books. He is also a patron of the arts and was involved with the Penumbra Theater in St. Paul.
