Minnesota Men of Color (MMC) was founded in 1998 by Nicholas Metcalf. The organization was founded to “serve the Arab/Middle Eastern, Asian Pacific Islander, Chicano/Latino and Native American Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) population in the state of Minnesota.” MMC focused primarily on providing HIV and AIDS services. The organization ran several programs independently but cooperated with other organizations, both local and national, for many of their projects. The Minnesota Men of Color disbanded in approximately 2003.
