Tretter Collection Information Files
Scope and Content
The Tretter Collection Information Files provides background information about organizations, people, places, events and concepts associated with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender identity, culture and history.
The files are not intended to be comprehensive examinations of the topics. The collection is assembled from various secondary resources: news clippings, press releases, flyers, magazine, journals and news articles, newsletters, programming guides, conference programs, reproduced correspondence, miscellaneous publicity, photographs and biographical sketches. Most materials in the collection are contained in single folders; however, there are somewhat larger topical portions of the collection -- 2 to 173 folders in size -- that contain primary sources and provide a more extensive view of the topic area. These portions are indentified by number of folders, date ranges, and individual scope notes.
Individual folders within groups generally do not have dates or date ranges.
