The Shirley Duke papers range from the 1970s into the 2010s with the bulk of the material being from the 1970s. The papers contain personal items such as photographs of her, her friends, and family. These papers contain numerous photographs and negatives relating to lesbian life and her time at Amazon Bookstore, the first lesbian feminist bookstore in the United States. Many of the images are taken by (with copyright) Meadow Muska. One photo documents the original Cedar Avenue location of Amazon Bookstore. The papers also include textiles and information from her involvement in youth LGBT/Duluth-Superior LGBT life.
