Scope and Content Note
This collection contains correspondence and documents related to Northland Gay Men's Center's membership, operations, board, discussion groups, events, newsletter, library, activities such as Adopt-a-Highway participation, and local and regional partnerships. In addition, the collection includes financial records, grant applications and associated documentation, notes from calls the center received from individuals, and memorabilia from community events in which the Center was involved, such as Duluth-Superior Pride, Twin Cities Pride, and Duluth Christmas and St. Patrick's Day Parades.

Biographical Note
The Northland Gay Men's Center (NGMC) was founded in Duluth in 1992, and served Northern Minnesota, Northwestern Wisconsin, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Center's mission is to be an affirming and substance-free community space, providing information and support, and working to build awareness and end oppression and discrimination in the wider community.

Initial processing and finding aid authorship was completed by Christina Getaz in 2017.
