LGBT Danmark Library/Archives Materials Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection contains publications, ephemera, and other materials donated from the library and archives of LGBT Danmark, a Danish LGBT rights organization. Originally founded in 1948 under the name Kresden af 1948 (The Circle of 1948), the organization underwent several name changes over the years. Many of the publications in this collection are stamped with the text, “Bibliotek og Arkiv, Landsforeningen for Bosser og Lesbiske, Forbundet af 1948” (in English, “Library and Archives, National Association for Gays and Lesbians, the League of 1948”), referring to an older iteration of the group. The organization opened a library and archives in 1983, which originally housed the books in this collection. The materials were accessioned in three separate batches from LGBT Danmark from April to December of 2013.
