William Bailey Lockhart papers

 Collection
Identifier: uarc 79

Scope and Content

The collection consists primarily of arbitration case files. Each arbitration case file contains Lockhart’s opinion and award, and his claim for payment for services as arbitrator. Files may also include labor agreements, exhibits, briefs, and, in rare cases, proceedings. The cases are predominantly labor disputes with the exception of the Karon estate arbitration. A selection of Lockhart’s Harvard Law School notes and two papers he wrote are included in the collection.

The collection was accessioned as containing Lockhart’s files on the U.S. Commission on Obscenity and Pornography. None of these files were present and their location is unknown. Neither are there any examples of Lockhart’s work on constitutional law nor his long teaching career.
