Biographical Sketch of Esther F. Wattenberg (b. 1921)

Esther Wattenberg was born on August 13, 1921 in London, Ontario, Canada. She earned her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in 1941, her M.A. from the University of Toronto in 1944 and an additional M.A. from the University of Chicago in 1955. She has been a member of the faculty at the University of Minnesota since 1964. In 1972, Esther was appointed as an associate professor in the school of social work and as a researcher for the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA). She was later promoted to professor of social work and coordinator of social services programs of CURA. Esther passed away on July 19, 2019 at the age of 99.
