Biographical Sketch of Robert B. Tapp (b. 1925)
Robert Berg Tapp was born on May 21, 1925. He earned his B.S. in 1945 and his Ph.D. in 1952 from the University of Southern California. He was a member of the faculty at Albert Schweitzer College (Switzerland) (1957-1958), St. Lawrence University (Canton, NY) (1952-1960), Scripps College (Claremont, CA) (1960-1964), the University of Chicago (1968-1972) and the Meadville/Lombard Theological School (Chicago, IL) (1964-1972) before coming to the University of Minnesota as professor of humanities and religious studies in 1972. Dr. Tapp retired from the University of Minnesota in 1994 as professor emeritus.
