Much of the collection consists of minutes and related reports and correspondence of the various Board of Governors committees. The remainder of the materials include photographs, correspondence, reports, subject files, bylaws, and other documents relating to the administrative functions of the Board of Governors.

Historical Note

The University of Minnesota Regents established the board of governors of University Hospitals in 1974. The board serves under the Regents and manages the budget. The governing board was established to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation for University-owned teaching hospitals.
