Historical Note
The University American Legion Post 548 was established after World War II and is unique in that many of its members are faculty or staff of the University of Minnesota, although the Post is open to any veteran. Post 548 has been supportive of the University of Minnesota since its inception, especially in the medical fields of cardiology and neurology. The Post has supported a professorship in cardiology and brain science at the University.
