Eduard Stadelmann papers
Scope and Content
Collection 1035 contains office files relating to Stadelmann's work in the Department of Plant Pathology and the Department of Horticultural Science at the University of Minnesota. Included are correspondence, departmental documents, and materials relating to the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Plant Physiology Program.
Collection 2006-56 largely consists of correspondence, both personal and some professional. At least half of the correspondence is in German. The collection also contains handwritten notes, travel info, publications and book chapters, bibliographies, project requests, information on the American Society of Plant Physiologists, class notes and photos. There are also several years worth of handwritten diaries, appointment books and log books.

Biographical Sketch of Eduard Stadelmann (1920-2006)
Eduard J. Stadelmann was born in Graz Austria in 1920. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck in 1953 and became an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Pathology and Physiology at University of Minnesota in 1964. In 1972 he was a professor in the Department of Horticultural Science and Landscape Architecture.. He retired in 1991. His research interests centered on plant physiology and plant cell physiology.
He received Fulbright Awards in 1979 and 1987 and the Humboldt Award in 1974 and 1975. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the Agricultural University, Vienna (Austria) in 1989 and published numerous refereed publications, book chapters, and two book translations. Stadelmann passed away in St. Paul on September 14, 2006 at the age of 86.
