Scope and Content

The cookbooks in this collection vary from small local organization fundraiser cookbooks to small handout recipe booklets to national cookbooks. The majority of the cookbooks are in English, but some include corresponding recipes in Yiddish. Some cookbooks were not published and did not have publication dates; the known date range for the materials is 1919 to 2004.

Historical Note

This collection was compiled by the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest from 1984 to 2012. When any kosher or Jewish cookbooks were donated to the organization, they were added to this collection and donors, if known, were noted.
