Scope and Content

This collection contains papers of the Rudolph and Kaner families relating to their family history, businesses, and correspondence in Yiddish with relatives in Lithuania, some of which are translated. The photographs, black and white and in color, are mostly of family members.

Historical Note

Burton Rudolph was the owner of Capital Supply Co. of St. Paul and veteran of the United States Navy. His uncle was Oser Shabsie Kaner; Kaner's daughter Evelyn married Maurice Rudolph, Burton's father. Maurice owned Rudolph Superior furniture store.

Abstract

This collection consists of documents, letters, and photographs of the Rudolph and Kaner families, Jewish families residing in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Donated to the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest by Burton Rudolph in 1987, 1995, and 1996
