Historical Note

Robbins Fur Dressing & Dying Company was founded in 1918 by Herman Maul in Hennepin County, MN. George Robbins was the first President of the Company and resigned in 1920. In 1921 H.J. (Hyman J.) Gross was elected president of Robbins and changed the name to Excel Garment Manufacturing Company. As far as the records indicate, Excel manufacturing was in operation through 1951.
