Biographical / Historical
In 1956, the B'nai B'rith Women invited the Saint Paul Area Church Women United to share in an Interfaith Tea. The first tea was at Sons of Jacob Synagogue in St. Paul, the second year it was held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Over the years, groups of women from other congregations, such as the Saint Paul Deanery of Catholic Women, joined the two groups, creating an annual opportunity for women of all faiths to have fellowship together and express their common witness to the community.
In 2007, the group celebrated it's 50th anniversary; the event, held at Temple of Aaron, was sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council, Church Women United, and the Council of Catholic Women. The date of the event, September 30th, 1997, was proclaimed Interfaith Day by St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.
