Scope and Contents

This collection consists of research materials, the majority of which is electronic records. Paper documents include print outs of research and photocopies of items, as well as interview notes and administrative documents. Electronic records include audio files (wav, mp3, wma), video files (aif), graphic files (jpg, tif, indd), office files (pdf, doc, pub, docx, rtf) and miscellaneous.

Biographical / Historical

Jeff Norman worked on this research in conjunction with the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest as part of a Legacy grant to conduct oral histories documenting the migration of Jews out of North Minneapolis. After the project was completed, Jeff continued his own research and oral histories. He passed away in 2019.

Abstract

This collection consists of the research of Jeff Norman as he conducted research and oral histories related to the migration of Jewish community members from the north side of Minneapolis to St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

A number of the oral histories represented in this collection were a part of the Urban Exodus project undertaken by the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest, with Jeff Norman coordinating the project.
