Biographical / Historical

Jewish Dating Service was begun by Bobbie Goldfarb, Sandy Olkon, and Judy Dworsky as a non-profit organization looking to match local Jewish singles. Before running their business out of an office located in the westerns suburbs of Minneapolis, Bobbie Goldfarb was matching couples on a volunteer basis out of her kitchen. By 1985 Marilyn Weisberg joined the organization and their work really took off. Jean Bundt would also later join the staff.

A 1998 article noted that the organization was at that point successful for 250 marriages and more than 500 babies. By 2009 the Jewish Singles Collaborative as a business closed their doors, but remained a volunteer-driven organization looking to create connections.
