Biographical Note

Deborah Keenan is a poet, visual artist, and professor in The Creative Writing Programs of Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. She was born in Bloomington, MN and attended Macalester College in St. Paul. She's worked with the Minnesota Writers and Artists in the Schools Program, COMPAS, The Loft Literary Center, as well as with public schools and other community organizations. Keenan was the managing editor of Milkweed Editions, an independent press located in Minneapolis, MN, for four years. She is also the founder of the Laurel Poetry Collective. Her books have been published by New Rivers Press, Coffeehouse Press, and Milkweed Editions.
