The collection consists of family photographs, papers, and a scrapbook primarily documenting the life of Gayle Thoreson Carlson (d. 2000), and her husband Carl E. Carlson (d. 1992), as well as information on Proctor, Minnesota and the Cozy Café.
Miscellaneous papers including: booklet “Constitution and Rules of Naturalization Club of French Canadians of Duluth” in French; a bowling banquet program from 1950, “Pyramid” letter, miscellaneous; Wedding photographs and guest book; Gayle Carlson's bowling patches (1955-1964); Photographs from about 1900 of Proctor, Minnesota; UNK Country Club, possibly in Proctor not dated; Photographs with a few corresponding negatives presumable of family 1942-47, 1973, not dated; not dated photographs of the Cozy Café; a scrapbook primarily 1934-38, 1950, compiled by Gayle Thoreson of news clippings, invitations, tickets, souvenirs, photographs of unidentified people related to Proctor and the Duluth State Teachers College

Biographical / Historical
Gayle Thoreson Carlson died in 2000, and her husband Carl E. Carlson died in 1992. They lived in Proctor, Minnesota, and were involved in the French Canadians club. Gayle Thoreson was an accomplished bowler, and she probably attended the Duluth State Teachers College. The Carlson's relationship with the Cozy Café is not entirely clear.
