The collection includes the 1903 charter; correspondence; constitution for the Sons of Norway; 1950 merger papers; records of payments to about 30 sick members; minutes from meetings, 1903-1955; ledgers, 1903-1963; supplemental ledgers, 1903-1959; and the membership roster for 1949. The bulk of this collection is from the years prior to 1950. Early years of minutes and ledgers are in Norwegian.

Biographical / Historical
The Daughters of Norway organized to unite women of Norwegian birth or descent, to sponsor charitable projects, and to provide payments to ailing members.The Nora Lodge No. 4 was organized in Duluth, Minnesota in 1903. In 1950 it merged with the local Sons of Norway.
