Biographical / Historical

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of women educators founded by Annie Webb Blanton and 11 other women in 1929 in Austin, Texas which remains its headquarters. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. Membership is by invitation and is extended to those women educators whose distinguished contributions and achievements in the field of education and to their communities are identified as outstanding.

The Minnesota chapter, Tau State, was founded in 1929. The Duluth Beta Chapter was formed in 1940, the Kappa Chapter in 1950.
