Scope and Contents
The collection contains administrative records, financial records, and historical records. The administrative records contain minutes, constitutions and by-laws, correspondence, reports, financial reports, membership lists and officers' rosters, and a membership ledger and index. The financial records contain records of expenditures and receipts and treasurers' statements. The historical records contain publications including radio scripts, government publications, programs, newsletters, hospital volunteer's manual, news clippings, materials from the annual state convention, national citations, and scrapbooks.

Biographical / Historical
The Women's Auxiliary to the Gilbert W. Normann Chapter No. 6 of the Disabled Veterans of Duluth, Minnesota was organized in about 1927. The Women's Auxiliary to the Disabled American Veterans promoted the health and welfare interests of disabled veterans and their dependents through legislative lobbying and fund-raising, volunteered services and raised funds for Veterans' Administration hospitals and programs, and participated in a number of patriotic and civic projects, both on the the national and local level. Memberhsip in the Auxiliary was restricted to wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, and grand-daughters of deceased of disabled veterans.
