The collection contains four scrapbooks compiled by Roy Rose. The books are dated 1961 – 1965, 1966 – 1970, 1970 – 1972, and 1973 – 1974, and contain board member lists, clippings, snap shots, and annual meeting minutes from May 28, 1963, July 10, 1963, and Oct. 7, 1963.

Biographical / Historical

The Duluth Eastern Little League began the Duluth League in the spring of 1961, launching Little League in Duluth. Each community or neighborhood league functioned independently but the league generally was promoted by the City Recreation Board. There were seven leagues: Far West League, Western League, Piedmont – West End League, Central League, Duluth Heights – Kenwood League, Eastern League, and Lake – Park League. Duluth Eastern League opened at Barnes Field, June 20, 1961.
