Biographical / Historical

The city of Duluth, Minnesota purchased the Duluth Gas and Water Company in 1898. The Duluth City Water and Light Board was created by an ordinance of the Duluth City Council on August 10, 1898. The Water and Light Board managed Duluth, Minnesota's public utilities. The organization continues as the Duluth Public Utilities Commission.
