The collection consists of minutes of the Council dated Oct. 12, 1936 and Nov. 4, 1936; miscellaneous correspondence; Economic Notes volumes 2 – 5, July 1935 – June 1936, which present information on the Cloquet – Superior District of Minnesota Forest situation, Forest Situation in the Central Pine District of Minnesota; Introduction to the Reports of the Forest Survey of the Lake States and Forest Areas and Timber Volumes in Michaigan, each produced by the Lake States Forest Experiment Station, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service.

Biographical / Historical

The work of the sub-committee of the Forest Preservation Advisory Committee was established as a WPA project due to the lack of funds to carry on its work as an independent committee. The project involved the inventory of fire fighting equipment for use by the state and federal forest services in the Minnesota Arrowhead or Northeastern area of Minnesota. The name was altered to Forest Preservation Advisory Council and the sub – committee renamed Executive Committee.
