Biographical / Historical

Elizabeth Jo Goodsell (11/6/1924 - 9/2/2006) was a Duluth community activist who was a physical education teacher at Duluth East High School by profession. She served on the boards of many organizations and was coordinator of volunteers at the Emergency Food Shelf. Ms. Goodsell grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1946. She lived on Minnesota Point and was an avid photographer. Jo Goodsell relocated to Washington State in the late 1990s, after the death in 1994 of her long-time companion and fellow activist Frances Skinner died. Jo Goodsell died in Kirkland, Washington.
