Biographical / Historical
Richard H. Hudelson earned a BA degree in Philosophy from DePaw University, Phi Beta Kappa, in l968, his Masters (1975) and a Ph D (1977) in Philosophy from the University of Michigan. Following a year as a research assistant in philosophy at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, he came to the University of Minnesota Duluth to teach philosophy in 1977. He has been a professor at the University of Wisconsin Superior since 1995. He is the author of five books and various articles and reviews in the areas of political philosophy and philosophy of social science. He has participated in regional, national and international conferences in philosophy. His most recent book, with Carl Ross (director of the Minnesota Radicalism Project (1987-1994), By the Ore Docks: A Working People’s History of Duluth was published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2006. Dr. Hudelson lives in Duluth, Minnesota with his spouse Univ. of Minnesota Duluth Professor Eileen Zeitz.
