Biographical / Historical

Trevanion Hugo came to Duluth, Minnesota in 1881 as an engineer. He became an alderman, President of the City Council, and was elected Mayor in 1900, serving until 1904.  In 1920 he was appointed Mayor by the Council when Mayor Magney resigned; he held that office until the 1921 spring election. Hugo was active in the Commercial Club, Odd Fellows, St. Louis Historical Society, and was an important figure in the Duluth Masonic Lodge.
