Biographical / Historical

Colonel William F. Henry was born in Penn Yan, New York and came to Duluth, Minnesota in 1885. He worked for a time at a general store and as a clerk at the post office, before joining the staff of the Duluth Herald newspaper. Eventually he became general manager of the Duluth Herald News Tribune. Henry was acting postmaster from 1918 to 1920. He was very active in community affairs throughout his career.
