Biographical / Historical

The Junior League of Duluth is a women's organization in Duluth, Minnesota. It was organized "to foster interest in the social, economic, and educational conditions in Duluth and to render efficient volunteer service by members".  The Duluth League began as an affiliate of the Association of Junior Leagues of America on December 21, 1920. The Duluth League was an outgrowth of the King's Daughters Society which was founded in about 1896 by a group of high school students who followed the religious traditions of their national organization in commitments to a day nursery and war relief work. A history of the organization from 1914-1983 is included in the records.
