Biographical / Historical

Mary Jane Kurek Lindley (1921 February 21 - 2006) was the daughter of Duluth residents Theodore and Josephine Kurek. She attended Lincoln Junior High School, was a member of the St. Clement's Girl Scouts, graduated from Denfeld High School in 1939, and graduated from Duluth Junior College in 1941. At age 25 she moved to New York City to study art at the Institute of Art Studies. While in New York she worked for Time & Life Magazines. She was married to Ralph H. Lindley (1902 August 29 - 1987 May 18). In 1952 the Lindleys moved from New York to Mexico. Mary Jane Lindley died in Point Loma, California in 2006.
