Scope and Contents

This project was an effort to capture the history of a community just northwest of Duluth. It was intended to produce a video for an all class reunion project for the summer of 2001. This video is the product of the reunion committee activity. Over 1,000 photographs were submitted by 35 people from throughout the U. S. who used to reside in Meadowlands: 437 were incorporated into the video. On camera interviews with local and former residence were made by nine people ages 65 to90 years of age. A 52 page script was written for the project. The 1hour 50 minute tape was sold at a the July 28, 29, 2001 all class reunion.  Meadowlands is located in T53R19 about 35 miles northwest from Duluth.

Biographical / Historical

Mr. Turney was a Meadowlands, Minnesota resident prior to relocating to California about 1990.

Toivola township was incorporated on July 10, 1911. Meadowlands township was organized July 13, 1903. Both were formerly part of Kelsey Township. It was organized because of the fine farm land there. The community is situated on the Whiteface river.

This video is the product of the reunion committee activity. The 1hr 50 minute tape was sold at a the July 2001 all class reunion.
