Scope and Contents
The collection consists of the records of the Morgan Park School PTA. Contained in the collection are yearbooks from 1925-1961; a handbook; commencement programs from 1922-1982; school publications; the paper Hot Saw from 1924; scrapbook clippings from 1916-1970's; photos of the MP elementary from 1938-1958 and reunions from 1977 and 1982; a Tradition book consisting of portraits from 1929-1934; minutes from Sept. 1936 - Feb.1945; a cheerleader scrapbook from 1953-1956; and graduating class photographs from 1926-1946.

Biographical / Historical
The Morgan Park School began in 1915 as an eight-grade elementary school, meeting in residential buildings on the corner of C Avenue (Falcon Street) and 3rd Street (87th Avenue West). In 1916, the school moved into its new building at the present day location, 1243 Eighty-Eighth Avenue West, and formally opened on March 15, 1917. The first graduation commencement for high school was in 1922 and consisted of 12 students. The school motto is "Seek the Truth." The school had a fire in April 1970, but was repaired. Morgan Park currently serves as a middle school.
